If You Are New to Blogs but Want to Increase Sales with Blog Marketing

Back to years ago, I frequently read people who state “my blog this” or “my blog that” but I have absolutely no idea what blog is.

After time being I learn that a blog is essentially an online journal. But the content is on a website. You post about whatever you want, kind of like posting here, no matter you are a major celebrity, a high school kid or a major corporation executive, and you can blog. It requires no technical skill at all and costs almost nothing.

There are literally millions of blogs on the internet. They take many different shapes and forms; the software I use is from WordPress.org. I host it on my own website. But there are also free ones out there like Blogger.com (owned by Google).

I blog possess many benefits.

First they are easy to set up; you could literally be blogging in minutes from now.

Secondly, it acts as a CMS (content management system). You don’t have to upload anything or use FTP. You simply post like I do here, the information is automatically organized for you.

Some are highly customizable like wordpress where you actually could use it simply as a CMS if you wanted and modify it to do many, many things. If you like, you can also build your blog within your website by using wordpress blogging software.

The other perk is that it can ping. You hook your blog up with a service like PingOMatic.com and it will let dozens of services know you’ve updated your site and increases traffic to your blog. Essentially it helps draw the SEs to you.

That’s why mine gets indexed so fast, every time I wrote a new article, my blog will ping it and then when the search engine crawls another site and follows my link back to me! Plus RSS feeds.

More about Pinging:

Each time your blog pings, your post is picked up by these services that will list a link to your site. A search engine will then come along and follow that to your blog and index your site.

This doesn’t mean to guarantee your website’s traffic; you do have to blog about something that someone might query about. You still need the right keywords.

If you use Blogger.com, it actually pings WebLogs.

Goto: Settings/Publishing/Choose Yes to Notify Weblogs.com/Save Settings.

That’s it! Now it will ping each time you post.

Blogging is powerful; blog marketing is a savvy and free way to help you increase your business sales. No matter what business you’re in, you can increase your business with a focused blog marketing campaign.

If you feel shy about your writing skill, it is understandable. But one true thing you should know is that many blog marketers nowadays don’t write their own content. They either use PRL Content or they outsource the task to others and pay someone else to write dozens of articles for them to keep their blog going.

If you want to, you can come up with ideas that related to your business and field, or just as easily give your writers a broad general topic idea and have them come up with streamlined topics for blog entries.

As I mentioned earlier about the right keywords, it means your blog has to be keyword focus, find those keywords that are searched highly and don’t have a lot of competitions, go for keywords that get close to or over 100,000 searches with very little competition. This way, you have a really good chance to get to the top of the search engines with your blog. To achieve that, you want to usea a keyword tool like Google Keyword Research Tool, Web CEO, IBP, or Keyword Elite.

Because blog marketing allows you to provide the ultimate content that the search engine spiders are looking for when they crawl web pages, that’s one of the reason of why it is a very effective marketing method for company to use.

The search engines know that readers don’t just want a blatant sales pitch all the time, they want the reader to get the most accurate information for his or her needs. Thus, your blog post contains a fair number of the keywords along with information that the Internet user might find useful is crucial, such as the information about your products and services that customers might enjoy.

The audience you build with your blog can help you in a number of ways, some people will, of course, purchase from you. Others may help build your business by telling a friend, mentioning you on their website, or promoting your products or services on their blog.

Blog marketing, used in conjunction with many of the other online marketing strategies, is a valuable way to increase the public’s view of your brand, and hopefully your sales as well.

You really should blog away if you haven’t done so.
