As you may know, some social channels have limits to the number of characters, like the 140-character limit on Twitter, but one can be more liberal with characters on most other channels. However, just because you can be wordier doesn’t mean you should.

For example, a Facebook post with only 40 characters gets 86 percent higher engagement. A Tweet shorter than 100 characters will earn a 17 percent higher engagement.
