Have you tried out Facebook new Profile Pages yet? If you haven’t done so, you can click on Facebook’s announcement to activate yours and check out all the new features, including revamped personal info, more prominent pictures, top interests showcased as images, more descriptive relationships and more.
If you don’t want to tried out fb new profile page now, then just wait till the time comes – Facebook force everyone to change to this new profile. Seriously, they will do it,
“And since there’s often no better way to learn about a person than through photos, the profile now includes a row of recently tagged photos of you,” says Facebook engineer Josh Wiseman. “In my case, my profile features pics from my engagement and wedding, two of my life’s most recent and happiest moments?”
With the new profile pages, you can list projects you’ve worked on, classes you’ve taken, your favorite musicians, sports, teams, etc. And there are images for your interests so your information is displayed more visually.
“Thanks to the cool new ‘infinite scroll’ feature, it’s now much faster and more fun to browse all your photos,” says Wiseman. “The Friends page now allows you to quickly find the people you’re looking for: just search by name, hometown, school or a number of other dimensions. I met a ton of new Ultimate players at Nationals, and the new profile has made it so much easier to locate and learn about them.”
The profiles are being rolled out gradually and the company says it hopes to get it to everyone by early next year.
Below are some comments that just posted on youtube few hours ago.
Yeah, this new profile? is awful. It looks extremely cluttered and the Ads seem to overpower anything else on the profile. It sucks that Facebook is doing this but I suppose the only thing to do is to just delete my account… sigh
– uploading photo’s wont work here
– friends lists / rules are messed up or privacy settings -> preview my profile does not work right
– where is? the video tab.
This one is just not practical. My profile looks like my bed room when I was 15. Is a complete mess full of pictures (friends’ to the left, tagged on top, ads on the right, and thumbnails with every interaction). FB, clean it up, you can do better than this!
Lol Looks like … ! I’m not changing. Oh? and if you’ve already changed it, you can’t change back hahaha
I get that they’re trying to stay “hip” and “fresh”, but this is not the way to do it. Look at Twitter. Twitter has had a new layout for months now. But do they force users to switch? No. I’ve tried the old layout and went back because I don’t like it. As long as Zuckerberg sees people using Facebook, they’re not going to listen to their users.
In addition to that, below are the videos about Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s interview on the news program 60 Minutes earlier today. In the interview, he showed off Facebook’s new profile pages and talked about the evolution of the platform and company.
