Speaking of web browser, generally, many people are using the browser that their computers came with, but in fact you have a lot of choices. You spend much of your time online inside a browser: When you search, chat, email, shop, bank, read the news, and watch videos online, you often do all this using a browser.
Browsers are basically software programs that allow you to search for and view various kinds of information on the Web, such as web sites, video, audio, etc.
What is Web Browser?
A Web browser is a software program that interprets the coding language of the World Wide Web in graphic form, displaying the translation rather than the coding. This allows anyone to “browse the Web” by simple point and click navigation, bypassing the need to know commands used in software languages – wisegeek
The Most Popular Web Browsers
Here are a few of Web browsers available to you for a free download:
Opera: Opera is a browser that gets little press in the battle for Internet supremacy, it is one of good browser that’s easy to use, it comes complete with a small Notes application that allows you to jot down whatever you need to jot down, in addition to that, it also has many other good features, e.g. Speed Dial, Widgets, Wand, BitTorrent, Display modes, Mouse Gestures, Session saving and etc.
Safe, secure, powerful and fully customizable, the Opera Web browser is faster and more secure than other browsers available on the market. Opera delivers robust security and a far-richer feature set than any other Web browser. However, it can have some compatibility issues with various websites.
Google Chrome – It is a browser that combines a minimal design with sophisticated technology to make the web faster, safer, and easier. Chrome’s browser window is streamlined, clean and simple. It is designed to be fast in every possible way, it’s quick to start up from your desktop, loads web pages in a snap, and runs complex web applications fast. It keeps you safer and more secure on the web with built-in malware and phishing protection, autoupdates to make sure the browser is up-to-date with the latest security updates, and more. Beside that, it also has many useful features built in, including extensions, translation in the browser, themes, and more.
Microsoft’s Internet Explorer: Most Internet users are using Internet Explorer because it’s easy to use and most Web sites are written with Internet Explorer in mind, meaning that they are compatible.
Mozilla’s Firefox: Firefox is rapidly gaining ground right behind Internet Explorer because of its tabbed browsing, superior security features, and fast load.
Mac Safari: Specifically for Mac users, it load fast and good compatibility with most websites out there.
Which Web Browser is the Best?
There no good or bad browser, the only answered could be by personal preference.
Back to years ago, I use IE quite lot, then tried Firefox, for some reasons, I find FF just too heavy, its always crash, I have to re-start my computer (time consuming) from time to time. So I switch to Google Chrome – it works charm (for me), and then I dropped IE and FF like a hot potato. I also tried out Opera, it works fine as well.
Thus, I can’t tell you which one to use, but I can say that I believe that Google Chrome is by far a superior browser; its browsing capability, superior security options, and fast loading have made me a happy GC user.
How do You Know Which Browser will Work Best for You?
Well, I have seen many people saying don’t use IE, use Firefox, its better. On the other hand some people say, don’t use Firefox, use Opera, its the fastest browser on earth. Also some say, use Safari, new browser from Apple, its the best etc. But you see, above those browsers are all free to download, and so it can be a good idea to test them all if you are in doubt – and especially if you are a Web designer who needs to know what designs will work in what browser.
As already stated, it does not cost a thing to download these browsers, so go ahead and test them out. The browser you choose to use can make all the difference in your search experience.
